Good information. I have a bad feeling some of my direct lender clients are going to be a pain with this, and they are going to pushback, when I quote higher fees for higher end properties, and they already established a lower fee in their upfront disclosures, way prior to assigning it to the appraiser. I wonder what is going to happen with Re-inspections, as they can add up quick, they may not be able to pass that fee along to the buyers at all, but god knows us appraisers will not eat re-inspection fees.

Thanks for information. I've been hearing information and I really think it is a lender problem. Maybe a loan officer should get a little more information about a property to be appraised and pass this on to appraiser when they are asking for bids. Maybe whoever wrote TRID should not have included appraisal fees as fees that have no variance since we are a separate business. But fees for most us have been dictated by lenders and AMC's for a long time anyway. I have decided not to do FHA work because there is no way in God's green earth that I am going to be in a crawl space and most access is large enough for me so I can' claim it is too small and can only do a head/shoulder look. Also I am not carrying a tall enough ladder through a home to crawl around an attic space either. I'm curious if other appraisers are not going to do FHA work either. I do not complete many FHA appraisals so it will not affect my bottom line much anyway. It must be the lenders I work for that I don't get the FHA work.
