Recently, Dustin had a complaint waged against him. The complaint came from a disgruntled borrower and had to do with them not liking the value. Should a state board take these types of complaints seriously?
As a San Diego appraiser I have been to the beach in the A.M. to do work (and surf), been to Mount Laguna to do work (and snow sled), and went to the desert to work (and play) all in the same day. I to carry a change of cloths, but based on the diversity and the complexity of this SINGLE COUNTY, my change in cloths are a wetsuit, snowsuit, and a tank top.
Seek the truth.
Anyone and everyone can complain and its always the appraiser who gets hosed. I spent the better part of a week (conference calls, lawyers, etc.) trying to get answers from the BBB as to why a borrower can post a negative review of my appraisal. The borrower is not the intended user, is not my client, does not determine the product needed, the due date, does not pay me directly, can't get a copy of the report directly from me, can't directly offer complaints nor corrections, and the appraiser is limited/handcuffed as to what can be publically disclosed in defense of their actions. They are not my customer, but yet the BBB allows customer reviews.
Seek the truth.
